how to link a calendar to my comcast email account

How do I link a calendar to my comcast email account, so that when I receive a calendar invite via email it actually goes somewhere when I accept it?

mikelg Hi there!

Great question. That can definitely be confusing.

Comcast email itself does not automatically link to an external calendar like Gmail or Outlook unless you connect them. When you click “accept” on a calendar invite inside your Comcast email, it will only save to a calendar if one is connected.

Here are your options.

If you’re using Xfinity Connect webmail:
Sign in at connect.xfinity.com
Click the Calendar tab

Make sure your calendar is enabled there

If you want invites to go to Google Calendar or Outlook instead, you’ll need to either:

Option 1
Open the invite email and download the .ics file attachment, then open that file to add it to your preferred calendar manually.

Option 2
Set up email forwarding from your Comcast email to Gmail or Outlook, and accept invites from there. Those platforms automatically sync accepted invites to their calendars.

If you tell us which calendar you’re trying to use, Google, Outlook, Apple, etc., we can walk you through the exact setup step by step.

@XfinityAirelle Thank you for the follow up and information. This is where my question comes from though, there is no calendar tab or icon or any mention of a calendar when I'm in my email account. I'd like to do the first instructions you provide, if I can figure out where a calendar tab is.

You’re absolutely right to call that out, and thank you for your patience.

I gave you outdated information earlier about there being a calendar tab in Xfinity Connect. That feature is no longer available, and I apologize for the confusion that caused. You weren’t missing anything on your end.

At this time, Comcast email does not include a built-in calendar. That means when you click “accept” on a calendar invite inside your Comcast inbox, it doesn’t automatically save anywhere unless you manually open the attached .ics file or use an external calendar.

The best way to handle invites going forward is to:

Open the email
Click the .ics attachment
Choose to open it in Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar

If you’d prefer this to happen more seamlessly, forwarding your Comcast email to Gmail or Outlook is usually the easiest long-term solution since those platforms automatically link email and calendar together.

Again, I appreciate you pointing that out, and I’m sorry for the initial mix-up. If you let me know which calendar you use, I can walk you through the cleanest setup step by step.
