How can I BLOCK email?

I am constantly getting spam email from McAfee in my spam folder How do I BLOCK them? I have created a discard rule, but I think it only applies to the inbox. Since the emails are in the spam folder, nothing happens. Is there a way to block them completely? I went into my spam folder today and had 74 emails, most from McAfee, and over 3 days old, so the discard rule isn't working.

Correct. Filters only operate on mail delivered to the Inbox as it is being delivered. So to have filters process these messages you'd have to change the Connect spam pref (gear icon / Email Settings / Mail /  Advanced / Spam Filtering / Override Security Filters) so that all mail they deliver appears in your Inbox. The Spam folder will still exist but will not be used unless you mark something as Spam. For most users changing that setting is probably not a good idea.

@carl5056

Hi there! I know how pesky it can be to receive those unwanted emails, so I would have reached out too. Our awesome team is happy to help.

You do have the option to unsubscribe from those emails directly from their site. If you scroll all the way down on the email, you will usually see an "unsubscribe" link that will allow you to forfeit future communication.

You can also check out how to set up our email filters to have those sent directly to the trash or reject them completely. You can find that information HERE

We hope this information helps. Please let us know if you have additional questions!
