Email TO field doesn't populate from address book

When I start an email, the email address no longer auto-populates from the address book when I enter part of the name or part of the email address.  I have cleared cache, done cleanup, etc., and it still isn't working.  I'm using a PC with Chrome.

I'm in Chrome, too. Sometimes, this happens for like a day, but I've never had it last a whole week. It sounds like we just need to wait for it to be fixed. Oddly it works on my phone, just not on my PC.

Autofill not working for me on any platform or device- edge, fox, chrome, phone PC.  Makes it impossible to work!

I'm thinking of switching to Outlook.  This is crazy.

Mine has not been working since the weekend.  No autofill or even Address Book response in "To" field.   Extremely frustrating.   Comcast email is basically nonfunctional if one is obligated to look up email addresses and then type them in.

In the To: field click on the icon on the right which will pop up your address book where you can choose your contacts. Not the best but for now a convenient work around.

@Again Unfortunately on my cell phone there is no icon on the To line. I looked for it earlier, this is totally unacceptable.

I am having the same problem, but only with one address, which also happens to be a @comcast.net address.

Many, if not most, email addresses are not in the "Address Book," so one totally relies on the autofill.

Another thing that isn't happening anymore is when you go to the Comcast home page, I used to see how many new emails I had. before I clicked on the email icon.  Now, no indication.

Hello Comcast,

When will this problem be fixed?

I am having the same problem. Forwarded emails aren't automatically pulling from my address book by typing the beginning letter of the person I am sending to.

Re fix:  Comcast tech support/customer service told me today that it could be days, weeks or months.

@user_ad5fce Oh swell such wonderful customer service....NOT. They charge so much money for their services and then we don't get what we are paying for. Disgusting.

This issue started for me this morning....I am on the West Coast did an online Chat at 11:00 this morning. I was told it would be fixed in 30 minutes....ah no, now 6:30 PM. I can't send/forward email on my laptop, IPad, or android phone. This is unacceptable we are paying for services we are not getting.

@marbaby58 This is not an isolated problem, and it won't be fixed for one customer.  Sorry, marbaby58.  If they don't get it fixed quickly, they will likely lose a LOT of customers.  There are likely MANY customers trying to figure this out on their own, as I tried to do, and not seeing these posts.

@shminnetonka I totally agree....the only reason I keep Comcast is because I need to fast Internet speed for work. Once I retire, I think I am going to dump this outfit. They seem to cause some major outage at least once per year. I have been trying to figure this out all day. I accidentally came across this forum.

I tried to download Outlook, which is what my computer guy says to use, and it won't let you make an account with a comcast email address.  Thanks, Comcast!  If we can't get what we are paying for, we should at least be able to use alternative email services

@user_e6ff92

What is the problem with Outlook?  Was it the download, installation, or what?  Were you able to set it up?  If so, did you go into Email Settings --->Security ---> Third Party Access Security and put a check mark in the box.

And, FWIW, you can use any free email client you want.  I use Thunderbird.

@user_e6ff92 You could also use GMail on your Xfinity/Comcast modem access.  You just have to log into Google.com.  You would have to set up a free Gmail email address.  I don't know how you would transfer all your contacts or history from Comcast, if it is possible.

The exact same thing happened to me.  I was searching for an answer and saw your post.  Anniying, isn’t it!
