Email Recovery

Hi.  My laptop croaked a week ago.  I hadn't done a backup for a few weeks.  Emails from 11/19/2020 to 04/19/2021 did not populate into my account when setting up new laptop.  Same for several of my folders.  Would Comcast be able to recover those for me?  Thank you.

@tsched Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. I am sorry to hear about your old laptop and for your missing emails. I'd like to look into this further for you and see what I can do to help. Can you please reach out through private message (by clicking on the chat icon on the top right of the page) with your first and last name, name on the account if different, and service address?

Sorry for the confusion! You won't see my name on the list, You would go to our peer to peer chat. My system will automatically get your message to me.

I no longer work for Comcast.

But when composing a message, I must put something in the "To" field.

You would send it to Xfinity, if you go to the Xfinity page and select the chat from there, it should be an option to send the message to us.

I no longer work for Comcast.

But when composing a message, I must put something in the "To" field.

To send a "Peer to peer" / "Private chat message" message to Xfinity Support:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/peer-to-peer-chat
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
  •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
  •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

FWIW, this message should have been moved to Email before answering.  This Forum is for the disabled that have accessibility issues, hence the wheelchair icon.
