Email on iphone stopped syncing with comcast email

Suddenly, my comcast email on my iphone mail app has stopped syncing.  After I went through all of the steps of deleting the app and re-entering all of the imap and stmp information, the mail started to update again, but uploaded over 700 emails.

Is there a way to get the phone email to sync with the email on my computer browser?  Or do I have to manually delete all the emails that were previously deleted?

I also want it to continuously sync so that I do not have to go through this laborious task.

Hey @gigi0526, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We would be more than happy to address your Xfinity Email questions. I am glad to hear you were able to restore functionality by removing and re-adding the profile.

I do apologize, but outside providing the email settings for the third-party application/programs, anything more is outside our scope of support. We recommend using our Xfinity Email online web portal for access and management of the email account.

If the emails are located in the Xfinity Email online web portal, we recommend deleting any emails within their which should carry over to the additional third-party email clients being used.

@XfinityDemitrius Hello.  I have been logged into my Xfinity/Comcast email on my laptop and been managing my email there.  However, the emails that I respond to and/or delete are not syncing with the emails on my iphone.  What else can I do to make sure the mail app is syncing with my email?

gigi0526,

Hello, and thank you for the additional details. Since you're managing your email through the Xfinity web portal on your laptop, the next thing I'd recommend checking is the account settings on your iPhone. First, verify your email settings. Go to **Settings**, tap **Mail**, then **Accounts**, and select your Comcast account. Ensure that the **SMTP** server is toggled **On** and that the Outgoing **Host Name**, **User Name**, and **Password** are correct. If you recently switched from POP to IMAP, ensure that your settings reflect this change. If issues persist, consider removing and re-adding your email account. For detailed steps, refer to the troubleshooting guide for Xfinity email settings. If everything appears correct and the issue continues, try removing the email account from your iPhone and then adding it back. This can often resolve syncing issues between the Mail app and the Xfinity email servers. Please let us know if you're using the built-in iPhone Mail app or another email application, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

gigi0526, Thank you so much for your patience. If you have some time, for the next troubleshooting steps to try is I'd like for you to head over to this link here and reset the password for your account as another troubleshooting step. I also recommend setting up 2 two-factor authentication if you haven't already like in this link here. Let's start there, let me know when you have done the password reset. The next step will be to delete the XFINITY email from the Mail app, restart phone, then add the account again with the new password.

OK, password changed, mail app deleted, phone off, phone back on.

Mail app added, comcast set up, new password entered.

622 emails added to my phone which is all the emails I have in my inbox but less than 200 are truly unread in my Xfinity email.  However, when they were downloaded, they are all marked as unread.

Also, when I delete an email from the laptop, it is still not syncing with my phone

My phone xfinity email is syncing with my iPad.  I've compared my iPhone mail settings to my iPad mail settings and they are identical
