email not syncing with iphone

I can access my email on my iphone thru the email accounts setup (not thru an app), but if I delete an email on my phone, it doesn't delete it in the email on my computer.  Not normally a big issue, but when I went away for 3 weeks, I had over 1000 emails sitting there when I returned, and I had to go through all of them for a second time...  I have another vacation in a few months... How do I sync the two?

To send a "direct message" / "private message" message to Xfinity Support:

 • Click "Sign In" if necessary

 • Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging 

 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 •  - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 •  - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

 • Press Enter to send it
