Email error in loading emails this morning

When I sign in I can't get any of my emails. I get An error occurred inside the server which prevented it from fulfilling the request. Then Error: failed to load messages. I have cleared my cache, cookies and history and retried it. The same thing happens.

I set up to receive my emails on my phone and I get the same thing.

Are your servers down?

The email outage is everywhere and not area specific the lack of response or acknowledgement of the issue by Xfinity is alarming

It is the same problem in the Boston area.  Most of Comcast's email servers have crashed, yet their support webpage shows no service outages.  However, when you "ping" the email servers directly from an OS command prompt (without launching an email app), both Comcast's inbound and outbound email servers are not responding.

I just finished a phone call with Comcast support.  They say they do not see any service problems (but they also acknowledge they cannot use tcp network commands to check the server status).  The person I spoke with did say a lot of customers were calling with the same complaint, but internally at Comcast they do not how to monitor email services or how to Comcast can resolve their issue.

Clearly, Comcast has lost control of their email servers and their own support staff are not even aware that they have a problem.  I think we should all prepare ourselves that it will take Comcast a very long time to resolve this issue.

Seacoast NH here-- mine is back; also, my old inbox emails (prior to Dec 2023), which had vanished, have been restored.

@strikeu Are you still experiencing errors trying to load mail? Can you tell me how you are accessing your email? Is it through a 3rd party email or via our Xfinity site?

In SW Florida, same thing. No emails received since early morning on iPhone, or comcast website or Outlook 365. Message: "Unable to connect to mail server. Possible reasons: The mail server is (temporarily) down or there are network connection problems. Please try again in a few minutes." Are email servers down?
