Deleted email retention period

How long are emails (deleted folder) stored before being automatically deleted? I didn’t see any options under settings related to deleted storage preference. They are being auto deleted relatively quick which is problematic for me. Is there a way to adjust how long they are stored?

Thanks…Rich

If you're asking about Comcast's webmail at https://connect.xfinity.com, there are no settings for delete interval.

Messages in all folders except Spam and Trash (and any folders created within those) should remain indefinitely unless a person or program removes them. Please see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/set-email-deletion-settings. In addition, Email Expert @Latoque and Employee @XfinityGabrielS have posted:

  • Spam is stored for 7 days or 5,000 messages, whichever comes first
  • Trash is stored for 14 days or 5,000 messages, whichever comes first
  • Messages deleted from Spam and Trash are moved to the hidden Recovery folder and are kept there for 30 days after being moved there, or until the folder contains 15,000 messages, whichever comes first. During this time messages can be recovered (see https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/apps/faq/index.html#recoverEmail) and do not count against the 10GB mailbox limit
  • Messages in the remaining folders are kept indefinitely
  • If the 10GB mailbox limit is exceeded, new messages are not accepted
  • Users cannot change these settings

Why is it not possible to offer the user the ability to permanently delete emails in the Recovery folder? When searching for any you wish to recover all that is offered is a date span to search for any you may need to recover. This results in a very time consuming task of searching through a tremendous amount of junk mail the limited filter system does not discard!

in my situation, the emails that are in the "revoer deleted folder" folder are still counting against my 10 gig max, so I cant send or recive any emails....
