Delete an email address for a deceased person

My wife died and I deleted her name from the account. I expected that this would cause emails sent to her address to bounce. That is n9t happening. How can I get rid of her comcast.net email address?

I don't think Comcast/Xfinity will do this for you. But you can achieve the same result. See https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/deactivate-comcast-email/694443436ff1b06ae43192e1?commentId=69457df899d8a96371d30b74.

It seems that would work for my email address, but not hers.

Could you describe what happens when you try to set it up? Where do things go wrong exactly?

Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your wife. I am so sorry you are having to navigate these difficult administrative tasks during this time @user_u98p5y
I see you mentioned removing her name from the account, does her Xfinity user role/ID still show in the "Account and Identity" section?

No, it doesn't.  Thanks.

I'm thinking that I probably should have deleted the email address first.

Because the account was active, Xfinity’s standard email activity policy requires 9-to-24 months of total inactivity before a mailbox is flagged as inactive.

I am an Official Xfinity Employee.
