Create Account on Samsung A7 Android
I can't seem to find the right combination to setup a comcast.net email account on a Samsung A7 Android tablet. I have accessed the following web pages:
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email
I have a comcast.net email on my iPad Outlook app. I have my own domain and many email addresses including one on that same Samsung A7. I understand IMAP servers and port numbers. I'm using for input imap.comcast.net port 993 and output smtp.comcast.net port 587. I tried the default, 465 (I think), as well.
The email is [Edited: "Personal Information"]. I changed the password on this email since I could not remember what it was before. The change took since I was told that password had been used when I tried to repeat the change. Now that I think of it, I may not have entered the port numbers on the iPad. Maybe I should try leaving them out on the Samsung?

If you're trying to set up a brand new account on your Samsung you must create it first in MyAccount. If you're just trying to add an already existing account the Samsung should be able to set it up automatically.

I guess I was making this to complicated. All I had to do was type in the address and then I was prompted for the password and that was it for the Samsung A7. I have a comcast email address on the iPad Outlook app with all those ports and in/out addresses. The native email app on the iPad announces that a password cannot be used? I suspect there is something I'm doing that over complicates the setup process. The Outlook app works so I will stay with that.
