comcast email using ATT internet
we moved from denver where we had xfinity and a comcast.net email to an area with no xfinity so we are using ATT. We continue to use our comcast.net email with not apparent issues. My question is, does this arrangment create an security risks? I know we are still going through the xfinity server but.....
Does the xfinity email app update itself automtically?

Hello @snickers007, thank you for taking the time to reach out on social media. Customers are able to access their Xfinity email with no security risk. Here's a link with more information on using Xfinity email after the account has been closed https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-email-only.
Your email accounts will have all the same functionality as before, except that you'll no longer be able to add new or change existing accounts.

There is no "Xfinity email app". There was one, but they discontinued it a while back. Now there's only webmail at connect.xfinity.com, and the POP, IMAP, and SMTP servers. Updates are applied to all of these from time to time. Each requires an encrypted communication channel between the servers and your phone/tablet/desktop/laptop, and so should be just as secure as when you were accessing them from Comcast's Internet service.
That said, it's a good idea to have some sort of anti-malware software running whenever you are accessing anything on the Internet.
