Comcast email no longer working on iPad

A few days ago, my Comcast email stopped working in the mail app on my iPad. It just couldn’t connect and retrieve my email. I tried deleting the account and adding it back, but it won’t do that either. It just says “Xfinity is unavailable”. I can access my email on other devices or via the website, just not on my iPad. My login information is correct. Is this part of a more widespread problem? What can I do?

Hello @user_d5e046 and thank you for reaching out. I know how important it is to log into your email from the iPad. I would like to ask, have you tried resetting your network settings on the device?

@XfinityMikeB​, I don’t think the network settings are the problem. I kept trying to add the account, and eventually I was able to. However, it is only sometimes able to connect and update my mail. I never know when it will work.

I can connect via the website, so I’ve been doing that. It’s the Apple Mail App that only sometimes can access my Comcast account. It has no problem with Gmail, though.

Okay, got it; thanks for that update! Just to confirm, all necessary software updates have been ran, on this apple device you've been experiencing the email server issues with, correct? I know that sometimes new updates can cause temporary errors, when trying to connect other email accounts, through the account settings. 

I no longer work for Comcast.

It was up to date when the problem started. I just ran the latest software update, and I’m still having a problem.

I’m having the same problem and tried deleting and adding my comcast account with no luck either.  My ipad is software is up to date. VERY FRUSTRATING!

I am sorry that you are not able to access the email using your iPad, @user_41c049. We never want to see problems happen and appreciate the help you and the thread are providing so we can get this fixed. I just checked but am not seeing this as a known issue. With the devices being up to date, not having the ability to re-add the email account after removing it, and the issue happening so soon after an update we should go through the troubleshooting and ticketing steps.
