Can’t send email on iPhone

Since being forced to change the password on my secondary email account, my iPhone can receive email on my Comcast account but cannot send email. I have checked permission to use a 3rd party client and deleted and re-established the account several times, all with the same result. From reading this forum, I am not alone but I have seen no solution. Please help

user_t2fyyg Thank you so much for your post for help with your Xifnity email on your iPhone and not being able to send messages. There are two password options one for incoming and outgoing in the SMTP settings. This sounds like a problem with the SMTP settings. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, and tap on the account giving you trouble. Scroll down to SMTP settings. It should show "smtp.comcast.net". If that one is showing correctly, you can tap on it and check the settings. Start by entering your password on that page. While you are in there also the use SSL setting should be checked, the Authentication should show "Password" and the Server Port is 587.

I have done what you suggest many times, but I still cannot send any mail. The password is correct. SSL is on and the port is set correctly.

I would like to look a little further into this for you. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue. To send a "Direct Message":
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it

I’m all of a sudden having this same issue forwarding emails and sending emails that originate  from my iphone.   nothing on my side has changed as far as I know.   I’ve checked the primary and secondary SMTP server settings per the above suggestions and both are correct.   I’ve logged into my Comcast (Xfinity) email using the credentials and they work.

have you been able to determine a resolution or cause of this issue yet?

Hello @joeabaker, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a comment on our community forum. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. To send a Direct Message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, and then type or select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a direct message.
