Can no longer send email

New problem has just developed where I receive but am unable to send email. Researching error message indicates that the IP address assigned to me by xfinity for this email does not have reverse DNS setup. So, is there a way anyone knows how to get xfinity to either: set up reverse dns for my ip address or assign me a new one that has reverse dns?

Hello, @user_f2w8mj. Are you having trouble sending email to one particular domain, or all domains? Also, have you tried restarting your modem to clear everything out?

Hi Marty, it's all domains and I have rebooted the modem several times with no joy. All outgoing mail gives this error message:

Sending of the message failed.
An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded:  p-impout002.msg.pkvw.c

o.charter.net cmsmtp 76.xxx.xx.xxx blocked. Please see https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/understanding-email-error-codes for more information. AUP#Out-1130.

The error code indicates that my ip address doesn't have reverse dns setup.

@user_f2w8mj Thanks for that information. Are you using a VPN or stand-alone router with the modem?
