Blocking email access from Starlink

When I am connected to my starling router I cannot send e-mail from my MacBook / ThunderBird or any of my iPhones/iPads using the Apple mail app. I can receive e-mail, but I have to input the password multiple time on my iPhone/iPad.  If I use direct cellular networking I have no problems sending or receiving e-mail.

I get the following message when trying to send email via a Starlink connection:

Sending of the message failed.
An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded:  resomta-a2p-646770.sys.comcast.net resomta-a2p-646770.sys.comcast.net Excessive failed authentication, ESMTP server temporarily not available.

I can only conclude that Xfinity mail servers are not configured to properly accept connections from connections via Starlink.

Hopefully there is an easy fix.

... Excessive failed authentication ...

This usually means that one or more of your devices is repeatedly trying to log in to the mail system, but is supplying an incorrect ID or password. Eventually the system will lock you out for a period of time. Double-check your settings at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-client-programs-with-xfinity-email.

The Comcast Security Assurance group (see https://spa.xfinity.com/contact-us) may or may not be willing and able to help you. If not, you'll have to locate the troublemaker yourself. https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/possible-solution-for-unable-to-connect-to-email-from-apple-maybe-other-devices-after-changing-comcast-password/65a1a8fbf961c6163a367c6f describes one approach.

@mhf13 Thanks for reaching out to us in reference to accessing your email account. You have reached the right person and I would be more than happy to assist today. Also wanted to confirm if the information provided by @BruceW on the Xfinity platform in reference to checking your settings work for you?

Changing the Apple mail to "Fetch" instead of "Push" for all my Apple devices appears to have fixed the problem.

I am having the same problems on my Apple devices connected to a router using Starlink for Internet access.   My email accounts don't work Starlink. Can you please let me know where you make the change from Fetch instead of Push?  Also, if there were any other changes required.

Thank You

Go to Settings, Apps, Mail, Mail Accounts at the bottom is "Fetch New Data".  I changed my Comcast account to Fetch.  This helps, but I still have to enter my password several times a day. I had the problem on my iPad, iPhone, my wife's Apple devices, and my MacBook using the Thunderbird email client.  Cellular has always worked, the problem only shows up when connected to the Starlink.  I have see messages about the IP address being temprorarly blocked.   I suspect there is something with Xfinity not having the imap servers set up properly.
