Blocked from sending emails (limitations)

I'm not sure why but I've been recently blocked from sending emails (two separate times now), presumably from going over the sending limits. I'm not sure why - I do have all my emails forwarded to my assistant, and send 5-10 emails a day, but between the two, I can't imagine that is going over 1,000 emails per day (I get maybe 50 inbound a day, so count 50 being forwarded to my assistant). If some one could help shed some light, it would be appreciated.

Hey there, @jamison_s! Thanks for taking the time to visit our Xfinity Community Forum, and for posting your email concerns here. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've run into, and I'd love to see what we can do to help! To clarify, may we have more details around what occurs when you attempt to send an email that gets blocked (i.e. error message, automated response, etc.)? In other words, how do you know that you're being blocked from sending emails? You've come to the right place for help :) Our Digital Care Team is awesome to work with because we'll do everything we can to review and resolve this as quickly as possible, and I appreciate your time and insight!

I received an email from do-not-reply@comcast.net, stating "Comcast Email Sending Limit Exceeded" as the subject title with no body in the message prior to having email send failures. When trying to send an email after that, an error message pops up with the link "www.xfinity.com/support/articles/limitations-on-sending-email" at the bottom, and the email won't send (didn't catch the rest of the error message). Seems to clear up several hours later.

Thank you, @jamison_s. I'm seeing that we have specific limits on the number of emails you can send per day and the number of recipients per email. These limits are in place to prevent spam and abuse of the service, of course. Here are the specific limits for Comcast email accounts:

- Daily email limit: 1,000 emails per day
- Recipients per email: 100 recipients per email

If you exceed either of these limits, your account may be temporarily blocked from sending emails.

Here are some tips to avoid hitting Comcast's sending limits:

- Use BCC instead of CC: This will reduce the number of unique recipients in each email.
- Send fewer emails to more people at once: This will help you stay under the daily limit.
- Use a mailing list service: This is a good way to send emails to large groups of people without hitting the daily limit.
- Upgrade to a business email account: Comcast Business offers email plans with higher sending limits.

If you're still having trouble sending emails, we can always pull up the account and take a closer look. Have you reached another limit or received another automated email today? If not, and if you've already tried the above, you can respond right here if/when the issue returns. We can then send you directions on sending us a direct/private message for further investigation.

I have not reached another limit, but I will reply here if I do. The tips don't really apply to me: I am just sending a handful of emails daily to one to three people at a time.

I'm having the same issue, today being the first time its happened.  Did it fix itself for you the next day?

It did; I think the reset is 24 hours, though it seems like it was less than that. Another annoying issue was that I was getting blocked in the early morning (6am ish) [another reason the sending limit block doesn't make any sense given that I was just waking up] and that was making communication during the work day difficult.

I'm having the same problem Comcast Email Sending Limit Exceeded" it has been going on for 4 days now. The limit is not being exceeded I only send out about 30 messages a day and they are all kb's in size using BCC to only a couple of people. The account does not reset after an hour like Xfinity says a does. Has anyone seen this problem and have you any luck getting anyone from Xfinity reading the post and giving more that the canned answer and link to a page that does not help. It seems the customer service at Xfinity is only the AI chat that is not helpful at all. What ever happen to a live agent.

The customer service is honestly terrible.  I just got off a chat with a "real agent" and it was just going around in circles for about an hour and a half.  Nothing has been fixed, and I have no idea where to go from here.

I have received the same blocked sending error message daily for several days. I have tried to send mail directly from the Xfinity online app and through my Microsoft 365 email account. I receive the error message from both apps.

Hello SRWRDW are you receiving the same email limit messages as others, or are they different? Have we tried some of the suggestions above?

I have the exact same issue.  Occasionally I send out emails for a group.  I am careful to have less than 100 addresses per email, use BCC, etc.  I divide the group into five separate emails.  At most two will be sent immediately and then the rest are blocked, clearing in a day or so.  I use EM Client as my email app.  I understand the need for limits, but I am nowhere close to those numbers stated here.  Any help would be appreciated.

Good afternoon @user_w4w3i4! We have a dedicated site for email concerns like this. This link here will take you to the page where it will show the different email error messages and their codes.

You may need to click on “Report an issue” if you are receiving an error while being mindful of having less than 100 addresses per email.
