7 bit data error

Hello, I have a comcast account, and I made a reservation at a hotel, who has attempted to send me a confirmation letter which just bounces back to them with an error message,

they told me that recently all @comcast.net emails are bouncing back to them.  Here is the error message:

Remote Server returned '554 5.2.0 <mx2.mxge.comcast.net #5.2.0 smtp; 552 5.2.0 Invalid 7bit DATA>'

What can I do to get my emails or can they do, you seem to be blocking all their important confirmation letters.

552 generically is "Message Boundary".  Message size can trip it (larger than 25Mb on Xfinity).  Format can do it (way old .pdf encoding tripping a virus scanner) and/or multiple attachments.

Have them compress the message as a zip file and send it if it's smaller than 25Mb.

This one says 15Mb size limit.  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/email-errors

I don't know what is current.

This one says 15Mb size limit. ...

That's an old number. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/limitations-on-sending-email says 25MB. And when connecting to the SMTP server and sending EHLO it reports "250-SIZE 36700160". If the entire message message needed to be BASE64 encoded that size value would allow for approximately 24.5MB (36,700,160/3*2 = 24,466,773) of headers + data before encoding.

This isn't a size error.  This is quite likely an encoding issue in the message.    Various systems may try to re-encode messages, and it doesn't always work properly.  There is quite likely a single quote or similar that isn't correct in their email template.  Unfortunately, this isn't something we have direct control over as it is part of the core MTA code.

If you could provide a contact at the hotel, I'm happy to reach out to them to try to get this resolved.  I had to do this a few months ago for a library in Minnesota. Please feel free to DM me that contact at the hotel if you have one available (click on my name, send a DM).
