XFINITY MOBILE UNLOCK

I truly am starting to dislike Xfinity Mobile. I can’t believe that they do not unlock phones that have been paid off for a year. Sadly, the phone is no longer on my account as I purchased another phone thinking the iPhone would be unlocked after paying. I was very very wrong. Xfinity says 24 hrs to unlock. I got an email “confirming” the unlock was successful (liars as always). It was not unlocked so I called Xfinity again and they said to wait 24 hrs again (not surprised as Xfinity always does this). Now it’s hitting the 24 hr mark again and no email confirming unlock. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB as it seems like they do this to every customer they have. I just don’t understand why the representatives always lie and never tell the truth. Like man unlock my damn phone that has been paid off for a year. It’s not that hard

@user_r3euc5 You mentioned the phone is not on your account anymore. Assume you have no cell service on that phone?  I read an article online that mentioned that iPhones can be unlocked without a cell provider. You should have phone turned on and connected to WiFI so it can receive the unlock signal over the internet.

i contacted xfinity through chat and called several times, i took logs and they kept resetting my internet during the online chat session. local modem ip would drop and modem logged a reboot. which would close out the chat.  so then i called on a completly different cell phone provider . my other phone has been paid off for years, activated a new phone with them and then called to unlock my old phone . once the new phone was activated, they claimed it deleted everything out on their side. they cant even pull up the IMEI like it doesnt exist. I sent them proof of the reciept from 2018 and they still couldnt look it up. then i asked if they cant see their own IMEI they sold me , how would they know if it was stolen. once i said that then they kept saying i have to talk to security assurance. i told them go ahead have them reach out to me. The last chat rep was a supervisor and they stop responding to me for over an hour until the chat session closed. i have done this with other providers and it was seemless. my friend years ago , had a phone with xfinity, got a new phone. the old phone was then disabled. then they tried to re-activate the old phone and xfinity claimed it was bricked. then they walked over to verizon and switched the phone over seamlessly.   i worked with 7 different reps yesterday. one person put me on hold several times without even saying they where going to put me on hold. i wasted about 5 hours of my time. this is what you get when you go with this MVNO. i am about to blast this on social media, that usually works

For anyone reading this thread. You need to confirm that your phone is UNLOCKED before you switch carriers. ALWAYS! Every carrier has these instructions clearly listed when you request a port out pin. Otherwise, this is what you'll have to go through.
