I can't send sos texts

“I transferred from Verizon to Xfinity yesterday. My iPhone still shows Verizon under About, I see exclamation marks instead of signal bars, and I can only message iPhones. It looks like my cellular service hasn’t fully activated.”

Thanks for reaching out — we know how frustrating it is when things don’t transfer over smoothly.

It sounds like your phone hasn’t fully activated on our network yet, which is why you're still seeing Verizon and having trouble with texts and signal. The exclamation marks usually mean the SIM isn’t fully recognized.

Here are a couple quick things to try:

  1. Restart your phone if you haven’t already — that often kicks things into gear after a transfer.

  2. Check that your Xfinity Mobile SIM is properly inserted (or if you're using eSIM, make sure it's activated).

  3. If it still shows Verizon under Settings > General > About, go ahead and tap “Carrier” and install any available updates.

If you’ve already done those and it’s still not working, let us know — we’ll double-check the activation on our end and help get things sorted out. You should be able to send SOS texts and message non-iPhones once it’s fully set up.
