Tampered sensor after switching batteries

Hello,

I'm getting a 'tampered' notice on one of my motion sensors after switching the batteries. I have been unable to figure out how to fix the problem and in the meantime, it seems the sensor is not operational. How can I fix this?

Hello, @user_9tzt1o thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I do want to ensure you're able to get the sensor working again, and I found this helpful document on our website that has more information on fixing sensor errors if you're still experiencing issues with getting the sensor operational again:

My deepest apologies, I was unaware of this process, but please understand that upon looking for this issue in Google, all top results point towards threads in this forum where the official response offered by Xfinity representatives is to contact support directly via direct messaging. Consequently, I assumed that it was fine to do the same.

I appreciate the response though. I did see the document at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/fix-communication-failure-sensor, but unfortunately the steps outlined there were ineffective in my case.

Luckily, after tinkering with the control panel for a bit, I was eventually able to figure it out. The solution turned out to be quite simple:

- Go to "Settings"

- "Sensors and Zones"

- "Repair Sensors/Zones"

The control panel then solved the issue automatically. Hopefully this might be useful for other customers experiencing the same issue.
