Eero 6 mesh network with Xfinity modem and home security system

Are these compatible? I mean by placing the Xfinity modem in bridge mode and then using the Eero 6 system as the wifi router…..to include

full functionality of the Xfinity home security system (touchscreen, door/window sensors, cameras, thermostat, etc).

Hi there and welcome to Comcast! Thank you so much for reaching out to us about your concerns of getting your own router and have the Xfinity Home Security system still work. You would actually need the xFi gateway for it to work. You can visit https://www.xfinity.com/learn/home-security to learn more.

@XfinityRoberto I have xFI modem from xFinity; reading several posts the guidance was to enable Bridge mode, which I did. I then lost internet connection and the Eero was not able to connect through the xFI. I had to reset the xFI and keep the bridge mode not enabled.

Not fully understanding how the speed can go from 800 Mbps to 100 Mbps just with 1 hope and why the xFI is not working when enabling bridge mode

Thank you for the response. I understand I need the gateway. Would I be able to put the gateway in bridge mode and use my own wifi router?

Sorry for the misunderstanding there. I was checking all documents for Xfinity Home and am only seeing the requirement to have an xFi gateway. Since there is no mention on using your own router, I think you would be fine. As a backup, you may try enabling Bridge Mode, connecting your personal router to the modem, and then connecting the Xfinity Home touchscreen to your router with an ethernet cable.

This thread is unclear.  I have an Xfinity modem/router in bridge mode and use a Netgear Orbi mesh network.  It works great.  I am now considering Xfinity home security.  Can I use xf home security with my Xfinity modem in Bridge mode or must the Xfi network be enabled forcing me to get rid of my mesh network.

Hey @kross76,

You will be able to continue using Bridge Mode with the Xfinity Home service. Our service technician during installation will configure everything needed.
