Continued dropping connectivity to central station

I have been dealing with a continual dropping of the connectivity to the central station. System asks for a router reboot & touchscreen reboot to resolve. IF that does resolve the issue, the connectivity is again lost within minutes or hours and is a repetitive problem. All equipment is xfinity. Are there updates or new equipment that is needed?
