If you got a call or voicemail from anyone claiming to be from Comcast or Xfinity and speaking about any kind of 50% discount off your bill, the FTC is well aware of this scam. Calls like these are becoming more frequent, but they can be reported directly to https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/, as well as our own Xfinity Security Support page here https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/alerts.

The FTC also has a great webpage on Scams, such as common tactics you may come across, and best practices for keeping your information safe. Please check it out as well!

I just got a voicemail - This is Comcast calling due to continued silence. We have removed your 50% discount and are preparing $1000 penalty charge will be locked into your next bill if you don't call back on the number showing on your caller ID right now.

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
The FTC also has a great webpage on Scams.  Please check it out as well.
For Target Gift Cards:
Call 1 (800) 544-2943 and follow Target’s instructions. 
Keep a copy of the Target gift card or your store receipt.
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
