Your Xfinity services have been disconnected

Hello, today I got the following email from xfinity@updates.xfinity.com

Your Xfinity services have been disconnected

Important noticeabout your Xfinity services
Your Xfinity services have been disconnected because your overdue balance remains unpaid.
Equipment must be returned to avoid an unreturned equipment charge. Visit our return site to see the specific equipment that you need to return and the best way to get it back to us.
If you have questions about your account, information is still available in Billing.
Make a payment
This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. If you have questions or would like to make a payment over the phone, please call 1-800-934-6489.

The thing is, I don't have any service with Xfinity or any equipment.  I signed into the site to confirm this.  I don't want to find out months from now that there is a collection agency out for me.  Why did I get this email?

Hey @user_nzuswn, Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We appreciate you bringing this concern to us. Sometimes these emails can get generated when a new person may be looking to get services at your address. Most commonly in apartment and rentals. Are you going to be moving soon where someone may be moving in soon at the residence?

@XfinityDemitrius I just moved into the house, so no.  Why would a new tenant get an email threatening return fees?  I was a customer briefly but never got my modem so I cancelled my service.

@user_nzuswn Thanks, they're general email reminders. How long was the account active, or was there anything ever shipped by chance? You don't have to worry about lost equipment.
