Xfinity Target Promotion Scam

I encountered a sophisticated scam where individuals impersonating Xfinity representatives contacted me. Alarmingly, they bypassed standard two-factor authentication and instead verbally confirmed my identity using readily available personal information, including my address, phone number, Xfinity account number, and current account balance. They also possessed details about specific promotions on my account, including the discount amount and expiration date. The scammers attempted to lure me into a fraudulent scheme involving a purported partnership between Xfinity and Target, offering a 50% discount on internet service if I prepaid for a year using a Target gift card. When I declined, they followed up the next day with threats of account penalties.

Unfortunately, after communicating with the scammers, I did receive a text from official 615-91 (Xfinity), which asks me to provide feedback from 0 to 10. Does it mean scammers have access to Xfinity systems?

ninjanitz, to confirm, are the numbers you provided in your post the numbers that were used to call you? Or are these your phone numbers that were impacted? I appreciate you already taking those steps to alert our Security team, that is the best step to take.

@ninjanitz

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
The FTC also has a great webpage on Scams.  Please check it out as well.
For Target Gift Cards:
Call 1 (800) 544-2943 and follow Target’s instructions.
Keep a copy of the Target gift card or your store receipt.
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!

They also use the following number  [Edited: "Possible scam numbers"] for internet deal and 1 [Edited: "Possible scam numbers"] for billing.

Same!!!  Very elaborate scam they've got going.  The biggest red flag was requiring payment with a Target debit card, and the threat I received when I called them out for not warning me payment had to be specifically made by this means I was told not agreeing to this 50% off offer for 5 years would result in a $300 penalty fee.  Well I called [Edited: "Language"] on that and hung up.  They never got billing information and referred me to [Edited: "Possible scam numbers"] to handle billing which I of course will not do.  They do a great job impersonating Xfinity and it's a pretty compelling scam as far as scams go.
