Xfinity says iPhone is UNLOCKED, but iPhone still shows SIM LOCKED — need backend escalation
I need an escalation for an iPhone carrier-unlock provisioning issue.
I have an iPhone 17 Pro that was originally purchased from Xfinity Mobile. The device is fully paid off and Xfinity has confirmed eight separate times that the IMEI shows as unlocked in Xfinity's system.
However, T-Mobile has now queried the exact same IMEI and confirmed that their system still identifies the device as locked by Xfinity. The iPhone itself also continues to show Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock: SIM Locked.
Apple Support has already assisted me with a complete factory reset, and the device still shows SIM Locked afterward. Apple directed me back to Xfinity.
An Xfinity unlock request was previously submitted, but that request has now expired.
I am not looking for another eligibility check. I need this escalated to the Xfinity Mobile device-unlock/backend provisioning team to determine why Xfinity's internal system says the IMEI is unlocked while the carrier/activation system still identifies it as locked by Xfinity.
Please verify:
- That the IMEI Xfinity has marked unlocked is the exact IMEI of this device.
- That the unlock was actually provisioned/released, rather than merely showing an “unlocked” status internally.
- Whether the unlock needs to be re-provisioned or pushed again.
- If necessary, please escalate this to Corporate Escalations / the Xfinity Mobile device-unlock team.
