Xfinity did "enhancement" work for 3 days in my area, causing long periods of outages leaving me with no internet service in the end

Xfinity did "enhancement" work for 3 days in my area, causing long periods of outages and finally leaving me with no internet service at all. By the 2nd of their work, I had no internent service from 7:30 AM till 5 PM. I work from home and cannot get anything done. Even after they were done that day, I had to reboot my router mutiple times before I could get solid connectivity again. They were supposed to be done after 2 days and then suddenly came back a third day without notice and the internent was out again. This time afterthey were done, ny internent never came back on even after multiple reboots. I tried to reach support and their AI assistant would only say an appointment would need to be made and the earliest time was in 4 days!! It was a struggle to get to a live support person and when I did, all they could do was repeat that the earliest appointment was in 4 days. This is unacceptable. The issue is clearly related to the work they were already doing and they should be able to notify the crew that was already there to let them know something they did is not working and they should return quickly. I pay a lot of money every month to be a "Platinum" member and it does not seem to mean anything. I am sure it will also be a hassle to be credited for the down time as well.

user_9gggto Hi there! Thanks for using our Forums as a tool to contact us and I am here to help you out with all of this. I understand you had some connection issues and work being done, let me take a look into the account to see what the status is. We want you to be able to enjoy your services so to get started send me a DM with your name and address.
To send a "direct message" / "private message" message to Xfinity Support:
 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Direct Message" icon
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

I’m having the same problem.  I need to work from home and Xfinity is not giving me enough notice and an end date for the enhancements and therefore I may need to switch my Internet this week to another company if I can’t get some answers.  What hurts the most is when I try to call customer service the AI tells me that I have an outage and cannot switch me to an agent.  I had to call from another number But still didn’t get any answers.  By the end of this week, I will be with FIos or AT&T because I need reliable Internet and right now. Xfinity is not reliable.

user_qyvaq6 Welcome to our community forum! I know how important it is to have reliable service when you work from home. When you enter your address in our network map what does it tell you about the service in your area? That website has the same information my team has access to. When our field technicians have new findings to share, that site is updated immediately, so it's the best place to stay up-to-date :).

The problem with this message it’s not gonna fly with my job. You cannot keep telling me every day that you’re gonna shut my Service off the next day. I need an ETA or more knowledge of why you keep doing this every day…

Scheduled MaintenanceWe'll be working to enhance the Xfinity network in your area on 08/11/2026 05:00 AM (Eastern). You'll experience service outages during this time. We anticipate completing our work within the day. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

user_qyvaq6 It can be difficult to make work arrangements when there are network upgrades in your area causing disruption. Our technicians are working as diligently and safely as possible to get this complete. Have you tried our Xfinity Mobile network? With our Mobile Plus Plan, you can get 50 GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data, followed by unlimited use at reduced 3G speeds. I love having that option as a backup when I'm in a pinch!

I have no reason to pay for you for any product and you can’t reliably promise me service ( for $200 plus) by the end of the week,  I will be making the decision  to move to AT&T or FIOS like everyone else . People have  been complaining for about a year about these so-called enhancements.  If enough of us drop Xfinity, I bet you they’ll be better movement
