Xfinity Chat sent iGuard link for SSN and DOB

I opened the Xfinity Chat on my phone app to resolve a problem with setting up a new account. Once this problem was resolved, the agent I was chatting with said that they found a "gift offer" on my account for a discount on service and a "gift" ipad. They then sent me a link with the base iguard-po-1pp.slb.comcast.com:9443/ asking me to provide my SSN and DOB. Should this be trusted?

Thanks for reaching out user_zfrfyh! Did you read the conditions of the gift? If it was through Xfinity Chat then it's probably okay.

I did not read the conditions of the gift. I was surprised to be asked for my SSN and DOB so I decided to end the chat. Is there any way to confirm that the link sent to me was legitimate?

You might want to read those conditions. Very carefully. Their idea of "discount" and "gift" may be different from your idea.
