Xfinity Billing Hardship Program Scam
Last week, googled Xfinity Customer Support. The top result provided the number [Edited: Personal Information] and I called. Talked to [Edited: Personal Information]. He explained a hardship program that if I could pay half my bill, the rest of the due amt would be covered by the subject xfinity program. He had access to all my account information. I did not provide more than email and phone #. I paid $200, towards the $318 and given a confirmation number. My bank account was debited $200 under the name Seamcraft Consultants and xfinity app showed my $318 bill paid. I also got notice of a login to my xfinity acct from a PC(which if xfinity accessed my acct i don't think would happen), I was notified by xfinity email my password changed, I called the number back and after being on hold to speak to the same guy he gave me the new PW. Now 6 days later the $318 payment was cancelled, the phone number is disconnected. I called a different xfinity number, they told me a request to cancel the account was received but i never sent that or got an email confirmation from xfinity. I traced that PC login listed on my xfinity account to IP Addy [Edited: Personal Information]which shows as a VPN.
I don't know how they gained access to my account information, but it was enough to take my money and my account is now suspended. Do I have a way to recover funds or account?

Please accept my most sincere apology for the experience that you have encountered. I would highly recommend contacting your financial institution to review the charges. You can always review your Xfinity billing information using our Xfinity App or Xfinity web portal.
Very limited departments are able to accept payment information. Our Xfinity Billing department can be reached by calling 1-800-XFINITY.
