And like everyone else in here, I did ordered an XB8 2 weeks ago and I was told to go the nearest store to get it otherwise I’ll be charge a delivery fee, I went to the store and they told me that the XB8 is by delivery only! So here we go again, I did call back place the damned order and guess what! I did get another XB7!! After ID been in the phone for another 1:47minutes I was able to get another order for the famous XB8 ! We'll see when it show up !!

Do what I did. I filed a complaint with both the BBB and our state AG's office. include your screenshots as I did.

I promise you won't get an XB8, I ordered online, got a 7. When I activated I asked because it looked the same...even said 7, gave them the Mac address and she said, yes you have an XB8. How many people are being duped thinking they have this super fast service? I have screenshots. I even begged them..please don't ship if you don't have it...what did I get the next day...you guessed it.

Exactly. I placed two orders over the phone for the XB8 back in April and got 2 XB7 gateways instead. No Xfinity stores in Southern NJ have the new gateway and I was told by each store that they do not plan to get them until September. I was told at one of the stores that by the end of June you should be able to order one by calling. Color be skeptical. What a total disaster this rollout has been.

This company is terrible, I’m on my 2nd order and they sent 2 XB7s, I now have 3 XB7s and I’m being charged equipment fees because I refuse to return something for their mistakes, they need to come pick them up!!!!!!

I joined here just to say I had the same experience. I was having service quality issues, the rep told me the XB8 "it will surely fix your internet issue" (exact quote from the chat) and that my local store will have one for me. I went there and was told they don't carry them and to order online. So I called, got a rep and specifically told them I saw threads people were getting XB7s when promised an XB8 was being sent, and they said they can confirm they're shipping an XB8.
Now on my account, I see by the model # I'm getting another XB7. After calling back and asking for case to be submitted. I got a call back from the "corporate office" and they said due to availability issues they could not guarantee an XB8 if ordered. I asked is there any way to guarantee we would get an XB8 if specifically told we were getting an XB8. They refused to literally answer this fair question and just kept trying to avoid taking ownership of a poor logistical situation by giving me some long-winded double-speak. Like I get the availability issue, just be straightforward with your customers and work on fixing your logistics.
Also, word of warning, I was told if I swapped out the XB7 for a new XB7 and if a tech came out to look into my connection quality issue, and they did not see anything off-spec at the time of visit, I could be charged a "new installation fee" because it's new equipment. It's really absurd.
