X1 Cloud DVR 20

I recently tried to record 3 programs, a sporting event on one channel and 2 back-to-back shows on another channel that were during the sporting event.  The Cloud DVR would only let me schedule one of the two back-to-back shows.  I was nowhere near my 20 hour DVR limit and under My Account it shows I should be able to record 6 simultaneous programs.  I have to assume my simultaneous limit is actually 2 programs and the back-to-back shows overlapped by 1 minute (8:00pm-9:00pm, 9:00pm-10:00pm).  Both of these issues need to be fixed.  Thanks.

Hey @labo,

Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Community Forums support page. We would be more than happy to assist with your DVR recording concerns and provide some clarification. With having 20 hours of recording space, it sounds like you are using our Cloud DVR Lite service which provides up to 20 hours of cloud recordings and a maximum of two concurrent recordings.

In order to take advantage of up-to 6 simultaneous recordings, you would need to subscribe to our full-fledged Cloud DVR service which provides up-to 150 hours of recording space and up-to 6 concurrent recordings. We highly recommend visiting our 'X1 Cloud DVR FAQs' support page where you can find additional details and features on the Cloud DVR services were it shows, "If you have 20 hours of DVR storage, you can record up to two programs at one time.".

Depending on the DVR settings you have set and the shows runtime/showtime, you may be able to set back to back recordings if all three shows do not overlap and if you have your recordings set to stop/start back-to-back without any early/late recording times.

If you think you may want the option to record more shows concurrently, please do not hesitate to let us know, and we will be more than happy to go over the account and see what options and pricing is available.

There are more places on your websites that need to be updated to show the reduction in service.  For example, when signed into my account, www.xfinity.com/buy/tv-equipment still shows "record 6 shows at once" for all levels of Cloud DVR.

Does this mean I can only record 20 hours of programming or I can only store 20 hours of programming?

Great question, Mr_Yeeshkul! You can record as much as you want but only 20 hours will be stored. Once you reach 20 hours your oldest recording will be deleted to make room for the new recordings.

I still have the issue of being blocked from recording simultaneously from only two channels.  But I can usually get around it by cancelling the recordings and requesting them again in a different sequence.  Very annoying...

@labo Have you tried power cycling your DVR by pulling the power cable out of the box for 2-3 minutes and then plugging it back in? Please check and see if you are able to perform simultaneous recordings after that and if you're still having trouble, let us know.
