Wifi losing connection

Hi there, we have had xfinity wifi for a very long time and have never had many issues but recently within the last month or so the wifi will lose connection every single time we are playing online video games. We never had any problem with this in the past and now we can’t load the game or even get through one game without losing connection and getting kicked out, which is getting to be quite frustrating. We have tried resetting and factory resetting as well as turning off all other wifi on other devices. Let us know how this can be fixed, thanks!

Thank you for meeting us here in our community about the trouble with your internet connection, @Smollierra. This would definitely make it frustrating to play online. I would be upset if this happened to me as well. We'll have to get your full name and service address via a Direct Message, so we may review your account. Before doing that, please check to make sure your coaxial cable is secure and finger tight at the wall and behind the modem. Also, take a look at the cabling to make sure it is not damaged, kinked, or bent. We look forward to you DM.

I have had the service personal plus customer service troubleshoot the loss of signal every day since I had the X1 services installed Nov 2024 . The problem that I can duplicate every time is whenever I use my Microwave Oven the signal to the X1 units is lost. The service techs check all my wiring which Xfinity installed 20 years ago made a couple connector changes plus re-grounding the ground cable. The last service tech left after two hours non productive work and said I should change my Microwave oven. I bought a new MW oven with a smaller radiation power and the problem can be duplicated. I have wireless X1 units, so I ran a direct cable from my router to a unit and the problem REMAINS when I operate the MW OVENS. I have a Xfinity approved Cable Modem.

I had Dish TV service with Four remotes and never had this problem. I have four Xfinity wireless units and the additional problems with this service is that when and if the units recover from a loss of signal , the units will go to a random channel different from the channel previously in use.  I get pissed at the service because I can't use my MW oven without loosing the programs I am watching.

ANY IDEAS FOR A SOLUTION......OTHER THAN GOING TO STREAMING OR DISH/DIRECT TV?????

Hi there, microwaves can disrupt your Xfinity WiFi because both devices operate on the same 2.4 GHz frequency band, causing interference when the microwave is turned on, which can lead to slowdowns or complete loss of connection on your WiFi network (this affects your wireless boxes); this is a common issue with most microwaves and WiFi routers.

Have you thought about wired boxes instead?
