wifi extender pod

If I purchase a pod from Xfinity, will there be a monthly charge?   I just started to purchase one on line and the summary page indicate there was.  Can't seem to get an answer from Comcast.

Concern moved here for greater exposure to actual Comcast employees for an answer.

Hi user_339497. Welcome to the Xfinity Forums and thank you for posting. An xFi Pod works with our xFi Gateway to extend your WiFi network, and help eliminate deadspots for more consistent coverage to keep you seamlessly connected throughout your home. Once you purchase the xFi pod, you own it. There's no monthly charge for these. Of course, your internet monthly service charge, and wireless gateway rental are standard. Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're here for you in the Forum!

How do I set the xFi Pod on my Windows 10 laptop?  All I can find is the applications for I-Phone and Droid.

I believe there’s just the one time fee.
I wouldn’t buy one myself. Mine slows my speeds down and I’ve read that’s happening a lot.

@user_9e32ff  I think I will return it.  I've spent several hours trying to figure it out but can't seem.  When I try to get help from Comcast I get in an endless loop of chat with a robot.  Thank you for responding.

Hello user_339497, you must use the Xfi-app to connect your pods. They work with the Xfinity branded modem and will require the Xfi-app for activation.

I no longer work for Comcast.
