When are we getting NBC back??

How long is Xfinity and Scripps going to hold our NBC station hostage? Xfinity claims they want to keep our service affordable, but $300 a month for poor choices of stations and frequent price increases for no reason is NOT affordable in any way! I'm looking at alternatives NOW

Good Morning, @user_j9w5w7! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums. I do completely understand the frustrations, and I do apologize about the inconvenience. You will receive an updated information if the programs become available again.

Comcast pays programmers to bring customers the entertainment, information, and sports they want. Comcast works to negotiate fair terms in order to ensure the greatest value for customers, given all the ways content can be accessed today. A number of reasonable offers have been made that E. W. Scripps hasn’t accepted. Comcast continues to work towards making this programming available again with fair pricing and terms for our customers.

I know what exfinity is doing.  They want to push getting streaming bundles so the consumer can get the channels they had for more money.  And when they charge you for a new modem to handle the extra streaming traffic, you’re doubly [Edited: "Language"] .

@user_kycfqt The NBC issue is related to ongoing negotiations with Scripps broadcasting to carry their content. We always hate to lose content people love. But I can assure you we are not doing so to push you to pay for a 3rd party streaming that we are competing with. Also, all of our internet plans include the modem for no extra charges now.

The contract between Xfinity & Scripps should have been negotiated and settled prior to the expiration of their contract. We have been without NBC, a major network for one week now with no settlement in sight. We are paying for a service that we are not fully receiving. Please solve this ASAP or we may have to seek other alternatives.

I agree!  The areas affected should be looking for other providers.

Will we get credit for the time we’re losing?

This is not acceptable.  We will be changing our carrier due to this.  what a shame...we have been with Comcast for years but it's obvious you don't care.

If you read the post on EW Scripts website it claims that Comcast is not willing to negotiate terms for nbc to return . Paying 305 dollars a month is crazy as it is , and to not have a local nbc affiliate available is even more crazy. I pay more

for Comcast than I do FPL and water combined. The rich keep getting richer.

This is the third week that we have been wild out NBC on the Xfinity lineup! This is completely unacceptable! I will be seeking another service, and I expect to be compensated on my Xfinity bill! This is ridiculous!

I am not seeing any other Cable provider having issues providing the NBC channels to their subscribers. Xfinity needs to bite the bullet and get this programming back on the air yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE for resolution?  Will there be a refund for services NOT provided during this period of negotiation?

Seems like it’s time for us to research alternative providers

This is the "official" position of Comcast...it's the reply to every complaint on this page.  I'm looking for other service.  Your representatives lied to me when I renewed by telling me there would be no price increases (the price increased after 2 MONTHS), lied about me getting the same channels (I'm missing 10+ channels from what I used to have, NOT COUNTING THE LOSS OF NBC, A MAJOR CHANNEL), and now we get the same drivel about "fair pricing."  I'm paying over $300 A MONTH for THIS?  No more!!!!!

So I guess we all need to find other companies to do business with.  Totally unacceptable.  I thought NBC was a parent company of Comcast.

I’ve paid over $40 dollars for 2 tabletop antennae’s, for NBC which should be part of my basic package.  But I’m not going to miss out on the Today Show, Nightly News, SNL and of course The Kentucky Derby.  But it should be illegal if you leave us without hurricane coverage during hurricane season here in Florida.  The other two local networks do not do the effective job that the NBC affiliates provide.

I agree with you 100% on this!  We are also paying an astronomical amount of money every month and should be able to get basic channels.  I feel like we’re being cheated every time I see the Xfinity bill.  It’s a very high price to pay for what we’re getting.  The bill seems to increase on almost a monthly basis.  How is this possible?   Now we’re missing channels that we’ve been paying for.  Xfinity finds it very easy to raise our bills, but having a hard time negotiating.  This is situation unacceptable!  I’m ready to just use internet at this point.
