Hello, @user_5yd5cb! Great question, and we're more than happy to help :) It sounds like you’re noticing the shift from the old routine. As of January 21, 2026, we officially retired the "Xfinity Rewards" program and replaced it with a new system called Xfinity Membership. While the $1 movie nights haven't been permanently deleted from existence, their availability has changed quite a bit. Here is the breakdown of what’s happening:
The Shift to "Rotating" Perks Under the new Xfinity Membership model, the $1 movie rental is no longer a guaranteed monthly staple for Platinum members. Instead, it has been moved into a category called Membership Perks.
- Thursday Drops: New perks are now "dropped" every Thursday.
- Rotation: $1 rentals are now part of a rotating selection. This means some weeks (or months) may feature a $1 rental, while others might focus on Fandango BOGO tickets, "Free this Week" content, or digital gift cards.
Why You Might Not See It If you’ve checked your app recently and the offer is missing, it’s likely due to one of the following:
- Program Transition: Since the program just relaunched in late January 2026, many older "Rewards" (like the consistent monthly $1 movie) were paused or modified during the rollout of the new "Membership" interface.
- Tier Logic: Even as a Platinum member, the specific perks available to you can vary month-to-month based on current promotions.
How to Check for It Now To see if a $1 movie is available for you this week:
1. Open the Xfinity App or visit xfinity.com/membership.
2. Look for the "Perks" section.
3. Check specifically on Thursdays, as that is when the new "treats on repeat" are updated.
Tip: If the $1 rental is missing, you can still access "Free this Week" by saying that exact phrase into your Xfinity Voice Remote. It usually unlocks a rotating selection of movies and premium channels at no cost! Please let me know if this helps.
@XfinitySara why would xfinity take away the perks people can actually use? My perks this week are save on merchandise. Oh great! Now I can spend even more money. No thanks! Bring back the $1 monthly rental. Xfinity certainly can afford it. [Edited: "Language"]
It is very disappointing to see these changes. Very little of what is "offered" is actually a perk or an offer. Lots of contests that you never win and "opportuities" to purchase things that we don't really want. The $1 movie night was one of the few tangible benefits available through the rewards program. So it just so disappointing to see if be no longer available monthly, but rather on an extremely limited basis. This change has actually made it less likely for me to make other movie purchases, since I no longer have a reason to go in and browse. I hope Xfinity reconsiders this change, and reinstates monthly $1 movies as a perk.
Thank you for taking some time to share your feedback about the Xfinity Membership rewards, @user_ec4d2c. There were a few up and down weeks with the previous program, it will certainly be a list that you will want to keep your eye on. One of the overarching goals of this new program is to keep things fresh, and we'll hopefully be looking at some new appearances this year with that knowledge.

Been a customer since 1997. Bring back the $1 movies. The Only perk worth the loyalty. The rest are garbage. no one likes sweepstakes. people want tangible things that connect to their lifestyle that they have some control over and that they can use.
It was foolish for you to get rid of this because it’s going to anger a lot of people and that’s the last thing Comcast needs
user_mg1dpo We appreciate your feedbackin regards to our rewards program.

I've noticed there seems to be only a limited number of the new perks available so if you don't catch them quick enough you loose out for the week. That's extremely disappointing and feels more like a giveaway than an actual reward. Hopefully Xfinity will review this new program.

user_ccb0f1 Great question! We do know new perks for Xfinity Membership become available every Thursday, however we are unable to confirm the time they drop.
