Veteran Gift Card for $180

Let me preface this post with the fact that I have been an Xfinity (Comcast) customer for 15 years, since 2009.  I received an email from Xfinity stating that they have enhanced their military benefits and have confirmed my veteran status and as a military customer I qualify for a $180 Virtual Prepaid Gift Card and to receive the card to visit xfinity.com/military and click "get started".  So I followed these steps and after clicking the link it says my I should receive my gift card in 14-16 weeks.  I happen to be downsizing and selling my home and will be moving to an area Xfinity doesn't service in about 30-60 days.  I called the customer service line provided for any Gift Card questions and was told by a representative that since I will be moving and will no longer be an Xfinity customer before the 14-16 weeks transpire they will not be issuing me my gift card!  What the heck???  I have been a Veteran for 25 years!  I was Veteran well before i signed up for Comcast in 2009, well before Comcast became Xfinity.  I have been a Veteran the entire 15 years I've been a Comcast/Xfinity customer.  Have Comcast/Xfinity EVER give me a discount or any recognition of my military service before now?  I have paid at miniumum $100 per month for the last 15 years to Comcast/Xfinity.  That's, give or take, $18,000!  Now Xfinity won't give me a gift card for a measly $180????  I am apalled.  What do I do?  I call Xfinity and try to get a hold of a manager or supervisor.  I can't get through to a human being!  I am now furious.  I tried chatting in with someone and requested a manager call me back.  I get a call back and it's not even a manager or supervisor.  He makes me jump through hoops to verify my account and once I've verified, he can't even see what my previous calls or chats were in regards to or why I'm even requesting to speak with a manager.  So I repeat my entire story again and he says he will transfer me to a manager.  I sit on hold for a moment and another rep picks up.  I ask if he's a manager and he says yes, with the Prepaid Servive Department.  Nothing to do with the Gift Card problem I'm dealing with!!!  I am so done with Xfinity and I am going to blast this all over social media to my friends & family as well as multiple military and veteran discussion forums I am a member of.  Absolutely ridiculous the way they treat their veterans.  Dangle the carrot and then pull it away!!

Hello @soccerdad76 thanks for reaching out about your Military gift card. Thank you for your service. Our apologies for how this experience has made your feel. You're with the right team for a resolution. I have a link from our website which goes over the military discount at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/military-service-offers.

Also we have an incentive tracker I would like for you take a closer look at to see if your gift card details are listed https://www.xfinityincentivetracker.com/track.

Thank you for sharing your service to our country and for sharing your feedback about the prepaid card, @soccerdad76. Your account would need to be active with us at the time the card is fulfilled. If you are not completely certain on your move date, I encourage you to sign up for that again. There is the chance the card is sent before the account fully closes.

If you previously signed up under our Military program, the original $50 prepaid card will show from when it was fulfilled. You can still sign up for the $180 card and that offer will show at the Xfinity Incentive Tracker so you can follow the progress.

Do you now see how ridiculous this is???  I am a customer NOW and I've been verified as a veteran NOW and approved for your gift card NOW, which will take 14-16 weeks to get here.  By the time it gets here i won't be a customer any more becuase i will have moved, but I should still get the gift card becuase i am a customer NOW and have been for the past 15 years!  180 months of $100 is not enought blood money to allow me a $180 gift card for being a veteran?

Also you said I have already qualified for the $50 gift card, which i remember receiving in just a few weeks from verification.  Why does this $180 card take 14-16 weeks???  Lastly when i got to sign up for the $180 gift card it tells me i have already been verified.  Does that mean i won't get the $180 gift card?  When click on the tracker link it only gives me status on the previous $50 gift card.

I understand where you are coming from, soccerdad76. You have been a member our family for a long time and the program changing right as you have to cancel the account due to moving is frustrating.

The card takes some time to process in our systems and then there is shipping time to receive it. Once it shows it has been fulfilled, it would come regardless of if the account is closed or not. The card would go to your billing address for your account. When you know your new address and can get mail there, you can update your billing address so the card would go to your new place.

The $180 prepaid card would still need to be signed up for to show at the Xfinity Incentive Tracker website. You can sign up by pressing Get Started here. After you sign up, give the tracker a few days to reflect the $180 card status.

The benefit was for a virtual credit card, meaning delivered thru email address.  You might be okay if you used any other email than a xxxx@comcast.net account. The virtual card will go there I presume.
