URGENT: Exposed Cable Left for Weeks Across Driveway and Lawn – Safety Hazard, No Response from Support
Hi Xfinity team,
Two weeks ago, a technician came to resolve a signal issue at my home and ran two new lines:
One from the overhead/pole box to the side of the house.
Another from the side to the back wall where the modem is located.
The issue was fixed at the time, but both cables were left exposed—one running across my driveway and another across the backyard. The technician told me a different team would come to bury the cables, but no one has shown up.
Since then, I’ve contacted support five separate times via chat and phone. Each time, I’ve:
Explained the situation from the start.
Been promised a technician would come within 24–48 hours.
Even received one confirmation for a scheduled burial appointment.
Yet no one has come. The cables remain exposed across the property. This poses:
A serious trip hazard, especially across the driveway.
A risk of cable damage, especially with regular lawn maintenance.
At this point, this is beyond frustrating. I work from home and have already lost several hours dealing with support.
Please escalate this immediately to your field operations team and help schedule a burial appointment with a confirmed date and time. If not resolved, I will have to escalate further due to safety and liability concerns.
Thank you,

Hi there, @user_xz9uwu! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum. We can look into this for you. Just so you're aware, the orange temporary lines are very strong and able to withstand the elements and pressure from vehicles. Also, the color is to help them be visible to assist with safety concerns. Additionally, under normal circumstances, line burials are done within 14 business days. Let's see where we are with things. Please send a direct message to us by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, click on the pen and paper icon, then enter “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Please include your full name and complete street address to get started.
