Unburied Coax Cable

This is what I just sent to the FCC "Xfinity coaxial line has been left unburied for over 30 days across my driveway and sidewalk that poses both as an inconvenience, trip hazard, and liability to myself and the service provider.  The temporary line was placed on July 2nd, 2026.  The underground conduit was installed on July 16th, 2026.  I contacted Xfinity via chat on August 3rd, 2026 and was given a confirmation ID 1002505853252033 and was given a date of August 5th to come bury the cable, no one came.  I again contacted Xfinity on August 5th after no one showed and was told they would be there today on August 6th.  I made a complaint online to Xfinity about the exposed cable with no response.  The technician that showed up this morning and said he could not bury the cable because they still needed a permit.  I called Xfinity afterwards and after 45 minutes on the phone with 3 people I ended the call as nothing was being accomplished."

What do we have to do to get cables buried around here?

Hi there. We understand why you are frustrated, especially after the conduit was installed, two completion dates passed, and the technician advised that a permit is still needed.

Please do not move or handle the temporary line. We can review the existing drop-bury request, confirm whether the permit is actually still pending, and determine what is holding up the final burial. We also need to make sure the missed appointments and current safety concern are fully documented so the request is routed correctly.

Can you please send us a direct message with your full name and service address so we can take a closer look?

How to send us a direct message:

- Click “Sign In” if necessary.
- Click the “Direct Messaging” icon.
- Click the “Start new conversation” icon, which looks like a pencil and paper.
- In the “To:” line, type “Xfinity Support.”
- As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select “Xfinity Support” from that list.
- An “Xfinity Support” graphic will replace the “To:” line.
- Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
- Press Enter to send it.

Talk to you there!
