transfer to wifi ready apartment
I have an existing xfinity account and gateway router, and arranged for a transfer of service to my new place.
I stopped by my new apartment today and discovered it is a "wifi ready apartment" with an existing router. Do I need to cancel my existing service and return my current router and re-enroll with the new router and a new account? Can I add a new router to my existing account and return the old one? Help.

The concern is not "E-mail" help related............ Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hey there, @user_oqnm77, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your upcoming move! Congrats on the move, and we are happy to make the move with you to the new address. You would need to use the Xfinity modem that is already associated with the apartment. I would be happy to take a look at the order to ensure that everything is set up correctly.
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.
