Telephone/Ipad deal

I went to Xfinity for a new phone. Was told because of my customer status, I was being given a $400 credit towards a new phone, and also a free Ipad. Hard to believe.  I found a phone which was 'free' as it was under the $400 due to supposed good customer. I was NOT told I needed a new line for the Ipad, and if I returned the I Pad, which I didn't  need, that the $400 phone credit would go away. I am very disappointed. Service agent told me my bill would go up only $20 a month when I went back to the store the next day. Old mobile bill was roughly $48. New bill, $85. I was also signed up for mobile protection plan, which I didn't  agree to. This is not the way to do business. I never had to sign anything which I found strange at time of purchase. I was given no paperwork at time of purchase either. I really just want to cancel the whole 'free' deal, but they kept my old phone as well.

Greetings @user_9la1kk, thank you for taking the time to create an official post. I know how frustrating it can be to when your set expectations do not align with your bill. We would need to take a closer look at your account to confirm, but I can't think of anything that would force you to keep the iPad unless you are just outside of the return window. If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
 Click "Sign In" if necessary
 Click the "Direct Messaging" icon 
 Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
 Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 Press Enter to send it.
