Signed up for 2 gig but only get 1.2 gig

I don't understand why I signed up for the 2 gig Internet but now it shows I'm on the 1.2 gig plan and I haven't been able to get 2 gig speed except on the day it was installed. Now it's maxing out at 1.2 gig speed. And my plan is showing as 1.2 gig. Feels like a bait and switch.

Hi there, I was wondering if I can get some assistance with this as well. I just had someone help me and they said they were going to send me an xfinity router because mine isn't getting sufficient signal.

Can I get some clarification on this? I have a Nighthawk router from Netgear. It's a CM2000 and does 2.5 gig speeds. I called my customer care from Netgear and we went through all my troubleshooting steps.

I still only get 1400 Mbs when I check my speed. If I had a bad cable or modem would I even get the 1.4 speeds? Is there something else we can check before I install the Xfinity modem?

Appreciate the help in all this!

user_kkr1je Thank you so much for stopping in for help with your CM2000, only getting 1400Mbps. The CM2000 is rated to support up to 2.34Gbps on our Customer-owned device info page. If you have checked with Netgear already, I would recommend starting with our troubleshooting tips page. If you do find an issue or are still having issues after let us know what you went through so we can pick up from there.
