schedule a technician

I need to set up a technician for install and account set up.  I have two accounts with Xfinity, and the website keeps taking me to the location that already has service.  I need to set up a new account.  The AI assistant has no clue as to what I need to do and there is no answer on the customer service number listed.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have already received the equipment.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Good morning @user_wnhlt0, and thanks for posting to the Xfinity forums, and thanks @EG for making sure we would see the post quickly. As someone that works from home and recently moved, I can understand the desire to have the services installed as quickly as possible, and you have come to the right place for help with this. In the new home, are there coax outlets for the modem, and if so, have you tried hooking the modem up to see what the light on the modem does?

I have not tried to do the self installation.  I haven't had internet at this location for at least 1 year.  Don't I need to have a line run outside, or is that only for cable??

user_wnhlt0 Great question, with that much time since having service, there is a good chance your tap is no longer hot, which would mean a tech is needed to get your service up and running. We can actually check that on our end for you though. Can you send over a direct message with your full name and complete service address to get started?

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Messaging" icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message.
