Scam?

I was just connected with a live agent via chat on the app. We were discussing my flex box, and I believe she tried to scam me. She asked who I use for my phone service and what I pay a month. I told her, and she proceeded to explain that xfinity offers phone service and said she could get me “2 plans for $60/month everything unlimited, plus the 2 latest launched smartphones for FREE & $10 off every xfinity bill.” Seeming to good to be true I asked what the catch was, she claimed no catch, so I said “If I’m interested, how would I go about switching?” She sent me a link and said to fill it out “to check the verification.” What??? I hit the link, it took me to a very sketchy website (not affiliated with xfinity) but it did have the “secure” symbol, and it asked only for my SSN and my DOB. SKETCHY. How did a scammer get through via xfinity chat??? I almost fell for it BECAUSE it was through xfinity so i thought it was safe. I just want to report this and spread the word. I have screenshots of the whole conversation. How can I get in touch with someone from xfinity to report this?

Thanks for letting us know about this. I can assure you that our chats are very secure, but I can understand wanting to be careful while online. We do have some offers that couple our home services with mobile, and they're very nice. The offer you're referring to could absolutely be one you were eligible for. If you're interested in taking advantage of this, I would love to refer you to our local service centers. They can get you set up with the phone right then, and get you a great deal. Otherwise, there's also the option of reaching out to our mobile team at any of the following methods:

- SMS Text Message: 1 (888) 936-4968
- Phone: 1 (888) 936-4968
- Chat: https://comca.st/3xxHA0i

I'm confident that the experts on our Mobile team will be more than happy to assist you with this. Please let me know if there's anything else we can help with today.

@XfinityJoshuaE thank you for your response. I would

like to hear more about the offer. Can I post or send you a screenshot of the link I was sent? It was very odd…

Of course! In this case, we wouldn't have access to any Mobile promotions. However, if you'd like us to double-check the screenshot of the suspicious page, we can help. We'd love to further investigate this issue together. Would you be willing to send us a private message with your full name and address?

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign in" if necessary

-Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon

-Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

-Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list that appears, and the "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line

-Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

-Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.

Today I received a call from Xfinity regarding a promotion and offered me a $90 per month rate for two years if I paid 6 months in advance using a Target gift card.  The caller had a significant amount of information about my Xfinity account.  Also after the offer and when I called back their answering system had the exact same message and routine call options as the real Xfinity site.  Long story short I was scammed out of $540.  The bigger problem that concerns me is that it is no coincidence that I was speaking with an Xfinity service agent yesterday about billing on my account.  That agent was not helpful and tried to pressure me into adding mobile to my account and sent an email quote that I am sure is legitimate from Xfinity.  It bothers me that I was scammed today and fooled because so much of the details I was going over with Xfinity yesterday were know by the scammer today.  Xfinity should look into whether or not there is some insider collaborator feeding scammers.
