Scam calls
I had a call from
[Edited: "Unverified Phone Number"]
sayigk they are from Xfinity and I need to return my box which I already did. They had my residential address. Then they sent me an OTP and asked me to give it to them. The OTP interestingly came from Xfinity number. I figured it was scam and hung up. Told them before I hung up that they called me and I didn’t call them. The guy was African accent and I have no idea how he had my number, address and knew I had cancelled Xfinity. An OTP ask is always a scam. Xfinity needs to get this under control - how is our data getting out there?

Hey there, @user_4h7zba, thanks for bringing this to our attention and reaching out through Xfinity Forums. If you believe you experienced a phone scam, you should report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The FTC will add the information from your complaint to the Consumer Sentinel Network, a database used by law enforcement agencies worldwide. Visit the FTC's fraud reporting tool or call 1-877-FTC-HELP.
Comcast collaborates with legal and outside counsel to pursue those responsible for misconduct. It also works to block and take down sites that try to spoof or imitate Xfinity or Comcast. Let us know if you have any additional questions! We are always here to help and take security very seriously.
