Scam caller ID with Xfinity

I received a called with the caller ID as Xfinity. They called me asking me I'm eligible for a deal with adding a mobile phone line for $45 off my current bill. I asked what account are they calling about, and he says it's confidential and asked me to confirm my phone number with the code that was texted to me. I told him the code and he told me what my address and plan was. In the end I declined the offer and we hung up. Is this a scam?

I also get called from Xfinity 2 or 3 times a week. All of these calls claim that my modem is NOT getting monthly updates. Is this a scam? I have issues to report and I always get a guide and other features work fine from my end. My internet and phones are OK as well.

Thanks for your comment, user_vmimpy. I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing a similar issue. Did you check our Xfinity Internet Security site where you can report suspicious calls/activity? I would recommend reporting the incident to our security team there.
