Scam Call?
We got a call from Xfinity supposedly from the following number [Edited: "Personal Information"] from Alma Arkansas. They wanted me to go to my router because they indicated there was a server issue for an upgrade that they were trying to do. I shut them down and told them I would go to my local Comcast store and I wasn’t going to do it over the phone. I believe I did the right thing, but just checking here.

"internet-security-site-web.wc-g2.cf.comcast.net" is a link to reserved IP 172.24.81.* which is a private/internal/intranet IP address. Comcast employees may have access to that site when connected to the company's private network, but customers have no access to such an address and cannot access that site. Attempts to reach it result in browser messages like "The connection has timed out".
https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse is the CSA site accessible to customers.

Criminals have been running that one and other "let me 'help' you by updating your system" scams for a long, long time. See any of the many posts at https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/search?q=update%20scam.

received a call today warning that my Xfinity 50% discount offer expires today - I know it is a scam but a good one. when u call the number [Edited: "Personal Information"] u reach an automated attendant that seems legit. As an IT person I was impressed by the quality of this SCAM.
