Scam call

A few days ago I received a call from a fake Xfinity rep that was automated. The voicemail sounds legit with Xfinity callback number to receive a discount on my existing services. I would only pay $79.99 a month for two years with no contract and can cancel anytime. Call them back Mon-Fri 9-4 PST. at [Edited: "Personal Information"].

Called them back and a guy said I qualified for this promo and needed to take advantage of it now as the discount ends in two days. I only had to pay the $320 upfront and use promo code "XRZ990" when calling the billing department. The guy went by "Smith". He gave the billing department phone number of [Edited: "Personal Information"] ext. 1 to talk with the billing Supervisor.

I called this number today and chose Ext.1. It went strait to "Smith" again and asked him why it did not go to the billing department. He couldn't answer and placed me on hold. Another man came on and he pretended to be the billing Supervisor.  He asked me to verify my address and I did unfortunately, but I asked him to verify my Xfinity account number and he stated "Ok", then placed me back on hold and never came back.

They have hold music and it sounds like a call center in the background. I can't believe they have the Xfinity customer service call center setup to sound so legitimate.

[Edited: "Language"] for people who don't catch on to them and somehow give them their credit card or bank account info thinking that they will get this fake $79.99 a month no tax if they pay the initial $320 to start.

How do they have our Xfinity info and please do whatever it takes to secure our customer info so that we don't all fall victim to this scam.

Wow @user_5c4549, thank you for the heads-up on this. Please report that call to our security team at the https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ site and have them investigate the origin.

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!
While this apparently doesn't have anything to do with gift cards, the scam is the same.  Please report it as posted above.
