Scam Call offering 50% discount
***BEWARE****I got the below voicemail today from [Edited: "Personal Information"]:
“Hi there this call is to remind you that 50% discount offer on your Comcast Xfinity account expires today in order to avail the discount please call back at [Edited: "Personal Information"] from 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific standard time we appreciate your business and look forward to hearing from you soon…”
I called back, and it sounded like Xfinity voice menu. Then someone picked up and asked me how much is my bill, I gave a fake amount. Then he said he will reduce it to 50% off but I needed to pay 6 months upfront. I hung up.
PLEASE DONT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION, THIS IS A SCAM!

Yes it is. See any of the many posts at https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/search?page=1&sortKey=RELEVANCE&q=%22scam%20call%22&sortOrder=DESC. Customers have lost a lot of money.
A competent company would have posted prominent warnings about a widespread scam that has cheated many and appears to use leaked customer data, but Comcast hasn't bothered to do that. They really should.
@XfinityJamie: Note that "internet-security-site-web.wc-g2.cf.comcast.net" is a link to RFC1918 reserved IPs 172.24.81.* which are private/internal/intranet IP addresses. Comcast employees may have access to that site when connected to the company's private network, but customers have no access to such an address and cannot access the Customer Security Assurance site through it. Attempts to reach it result in browser messages like "The connection has timed out".
The CSA site accessible to customers is https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse.

We never gave our info because they already had all our information. The 866 number when we called back to confirm it answered as Xfinity with all the normal prompts.
who can we report this to? It can't be that hard to catch them with numbered gift cards

Incredible that we don't hear about this scam until we are faced with it. Of note, you can not speak to an actual Xfinity person other than the ChatBot. I have to run to the Xfinity Store itself to resolve matters including complaints. The number they gave was finally able to be reached.
Suddenly I get a call from a scammer about saving me money. Where is the warning from Xfinity or Comcast? Incredible.

I received a voicemail from a scammer and decided to check if it was legitimate by visiting this website. It's reassuring to know that other individuals have also reported the same scam.

i recieved the voicemail and contacted the number given, was given a "billing dept" number, was sent an e-mail that was linked to my account with xfinity, which means anyone logging in to xfinity.com is adding another trojan horse on both ends, ... thanks for that xfinity ... i have a target about a ile from my home (where they said get the gift cards to use) they said it was a scam, i contacted 1800 xifinity and was told they have no promotion going on with Target and it's a scam .... SO MY QUESTION IS WHY IS NO ONE AT XIFINTIY/COMCAST OUT THER WARNING ANYONE ?????
