**Saftey Concern** Direct Lightning Strike - Exposed/Damaged Xfinity Exterior Wiring

How can I speak with an official Xfinity employee directly to report a safety concern about hazardous/dangerous exterior cable wiring left exposed?

During a severe storm, a direct lightning strike hit the exterior wiring outside my home. The strike blew apart the exterior utility enclosure, burned the siding of the house and left frayed/damaged Xfinity wiring exposed and hanging down toward the ground (see photos below).

Immediately after the strike, the Xfinity internet and cable service stopped working and TVs/Computers in the home may also be damaged (AKA they are no longer turning on, while my home still has power). I also have a medical pacemaker device that requires internet for monitoring.

I already called the Xfinity 800 number and have a standard service appt scheduled for next Wednesday, 9/16. I was also able to chat with a live agent through Xfinity Assistant and repeatedly explained that this is a dangerous exterior wire safety issue following a direct lightning strike and not just an internet outage. Unfortunately, the agent only checked for an earlier appt and said none were available. I specifically asked whether this could be escalated as a hazardous/dangerous wire safety issue, but that concern was not meaningfully addressed.

Because the lightning strike caused visible physical damage to the exterior of the home, destroyed the protective enclosure, and left damaged/frayed utility wiring exposed to the elements, I am very concerned about waiting a full week for anyone to inspect it.

Requesting to speak with Xfinity support directly and escalate this to the appropriate local maintenance or line team for a safety inspection and to have the exterior wiring secured sooner than 9/16.

I can provide the account information and service address privately by Direct Message. Thank you.

Oh wow! Scary! Most of those wires you see there are phone lines, the grey box to the right is your Xfinity cable stuff. There is nothing there that is dangerous, so no worries there.

That kind of strike can wreak on your home's wiring, most likely the tech will have to replace everything from the pole to your equipment.

Glad you're safe!
