Refund for returned equipment

where does the refunded money go when the equipment is received cause i switched accounts with another family member in the house so I'm still on the account persay cause now I'm a member of their account so they are responsible for the bill now but i was in the past and just want to make sure i will be getting the money back for the device I'm returning as i need the money for the rest of the bills
